Inside the Office with Jovana

In our "Inside the Office" series, we get the opportunity to put a spotlight on the people who keep innovating in order to push Office1 to new heights. This month, we get to know Sales Administrative Manager Jovana based out of Los Angeles..

Jovana, what do you do for Office1?

I am the Sales Administrative Manager. I support the sales team with both internal and external functions ranging from entering orders to analyzing customer issues within departments.

Do you have any nicknames?

A lot of people call me "Jo" or even "Jojo" sometimes.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I'm originally from Pacoima, California.

If you could pick a superpower, what would you choose?

I would love to read people's minds. In my job, it would be very helpful. My sales reps assume that I can read their minds so it would be helpful if I actually could when there is an issue.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a singer. I love music. My grandpa always made me sing in front of people. He got me a karaoke machine and wanted you to sing in front of the church or family functions. He always wanted me to sing a song.

What was your first job?

I worked concessions at a Cinemark movie theater. I would pour popcorn and butter. I would also take tickets and clean the theaters.

What is your favorite part about living in Los Angeles?

The fact that I have access to different types of nature environments. I can go hiking in the mountains or go to the beach. I love the diversity and environment in LA. It's easy going and I get to get up and pick what I want to do. There's always free events so I like to take advantage of those.

What is your favorite thing about working for Office1?

I like being able to support my team and help them succeed. It is very satisfying to me. In general, I am somebody who likes to serve so my job helps me serve my team while providing for my family. Office1 has given me the opportunity to make helping and serving people a career.

Pick one of the three O's (Origin, Operation, Opportunity) and tell us what it means to you?

I'm going to go with Origin. When I think of origin, I think of where we come from. If you don't remember and appreciate where you came from, then it's hard for you to find and complete your mission. For me, origin is a great word. I have had hardships in my life but I have chosen certain steps that have allowed me to respect my beginnings and keep working to grow. Office1 started as much smaller than where we are today. As we've grown, the company has maintained a family feel. Todd is humble and grounded and I feel like it all has to do with the strong foundation that he has laid out for Office1.

What’s the biggest project on your to-do list right now?

Right now, the most important thing on my plate is to get my orders processed. I have an order for 53 machines so I need to get that completed. This week is all about orders and hitting our numbers. I need to make sure I'm available to my reps so that they have the opportunity to close the deals that they have open.

What excites you the most about technology?

The fact that it is always changing. I like learning. I have a few sales reps that are tech geeks and they love talking about it. I'm not a tech savvy person but I like listening and learning from people about how excited they are about how stuff works and how it helps. Change is exciting in general.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Traffic is really bad in Los Angeles. I use the subway system to get to work. I love the Los Angeles Metro system but if I had to drive through the roads every day, I would not like that. 

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I spend time with my daughter. She's 16 so she keeps me busy, she's super active. I like to hike and try to schedule it in every weekend. It's my place to escape the fast pace of the week. I also enjoy live concerts. I'm always looking for cheap or free concerts to go to.
