Marc, how does it feel to be the 2019 Office1 MVP?

I feel overwhelmingly humble. I'm a humble person in general but it's nice to be recognized by this company and I frankly don't feel like I deserve it. I am very thankful for the honor.

What’s the biggest project on your to-do list right now?

My biggest project is to build this company bigger, wider, faster and make an impact, make it the most efficient company where people want to work and grow and a difference.

Do you have any nicknames?

Yes, let's let people figure this out because HR might have an issue with it. It's S.A.M.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in LA, Ventura County. It's the best place to grow up. There's the ocean and mountains and everything is here.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a pilot. I don't know why but that was what I wanted to be. Then I moved to architect, teacher and did some teaching credits then realized that I didn't want to do it after all and moved to business.. When it was time to pick my major, I didn't know what I wanted to do so I chose Business Administration with a psychology minor.

What was your first job?

My first job was picking up garbage at the drive-in when I was 15. I would wake up on Saturday and Sunday mornings and start picking stuff up. I was in school so i only worked on the weekends.

What is your favorite part about living in Los Angeles?

Everything! My family is from LA. It offers everything that is important to me and there's an easy escape because LAX is connected to every city that I've ever wanted to go to. The weather is also incredible especially in the winter.

What is your favorite thing about working for Office1?

I would say the people. The energy and excitement. The people's commitment to wanting to make their mark and do a great job. That excites me.

Pick one of the three O's (Origin, Operation, Opportunity) and tell us what it means to you?

Opportunity means the most to me. It's huge word that tells me that there is an opportunity to leave their mark and make a difference. What did I do to make a difference in someone's life or business? The word opportunity makes me think about that and holds me accountable and that's a driving force to what I have here at Office1.

What excites you the most about your job?

Back to the same thing with opportunity but also being part of a team and a family. I'm able to create great things. Oh, also showers excite me about my job. I like being clean.

What are your biggest pet peeves?

Plastic in the ocean! When I see plastic in a trash can, it bothers me because i know it's going to end up in a land fill or the ocean. Plastic needs to be put into a recycle bin. That's part of being in the water as a surfer and seeing the pollution while I'm out there. Anything that's plastic needs to go in your recycle bin. All recyclable products needs to be in there. It's for your future and our kids future.

What is your favorite quote?

"Make a difference" I say that to Todd and Danny all the time. It's all about making a difference.

If you could pick a superpower, what would you choose?

My superpower would be super height. I would dunk basketballs.
