Here at Office1, we believe that the foundation of our success is rooted in our incredible and highly talented team. In our "Inside the Office" series, we get the opportunity to put a spotlight on the people who keep innovating in order to push Office1 to new heights. This month, we get to know Customer Services Concierge Alicia based out of Las Vegas.

Alicia, what do you do for Office1?

I am a customer services concierge. I answer the phones, I place service calls and supply orders. I am basically the first point of contact for the customer when they are calling in.

Do you have any nicknames?

Yes, Lychee! That's what my mom used to call me when I was a little girl. When I drink, the crazy Alicia starts coming out more and my uncle calls me "Lychee Creechy"

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Las Vegas. I was raised here but not born here. I was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba on the Navy base.

If you could pick a superpower, what would you choose?

I would probably choose to read minds. For one, I would definitely know when my children are lying to me and two because it would help me do my job better to read some minds around this place.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a cross between a rock star and a princess. You should hear me sing in the shower. I sound like a rock star. Just saying! Jeremy, my husband, probably doesn't think so.

What was your first job?

I was a courtesy clerk at Smith's. I would bag groceries, help people out to their car, do go-backs, bring the carts in the parking lot back into the store.

What is your favorite part about living in Las Vegas?

The heat and the weather! I am a 115 degree weather kind of person. I don't like to be cold. I get cold so easily and the heat doesn't bother me. I love it. Snow is eww!

What is your favorite thing about working for Office1?

My favorite thing about working for Office1 is the people. We have some amazing talent working at Office1. Everyone is very willing to train you. If I don't know something, there is always somebody willing to help you learn and achieve your goals.

Pick one of the three O's (Origin, Operation, Opportunity) and tell us what it means to you?

I would have to choose opportunity. It's very important for me to work somewhere that gives me the opportunity to grow. I also like having the opportunity to learn new things and there's always something new to learn plus I get the opportunity to  grow in my current position and move up. I also get to learn aspects of the business that I'm not familiar with.

What’s the biggest project on your to-do list right now?

The biggest project on my to-do list is my account reviews. Between Sue and I, we have about 30 account reviews that we do on a weekly, bi-monthy and monthly basis. We do these reviews to keep our customers happy with Office1 and hopefully catch them before they go on the at-risk list.

What excites you the most about technology?

Nothing! Just kidding! I suck at technology. I can barely work my cell phone for goodness sakes. I've learned a lot of things working for Office1 but you will never see Alicia working in IT. I think my kids know more about technology and electronics than I do which is sad.

How do you see the future of technology and how it can be applied to offices?

There's so many new things in technology that I can't even wrap my head around. The new Tech+ services are so beneficial for our customer's offices. It blows my mind. There's so many things that Office1 offers that I had no idea could ever be done. It's so exciting to be with a company that offers this kind of technology even if I don't understand it.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I do a lot of stuff with our church. My favorite thing is hanging out with my family. Anytime I get a chance to visit my parents in Henderson, I'm over there. I love sitting down and watching T.V. with my kids. We just watched "The Sandlot" for the first time and they loved it!

What are your biggest pet peeves?

I have a few of them. I would say pen clicking my biggest pet peeve because it drives me up the wall.

What is your favorite quote?

I don't know if it's a quote but I tell my kids this all the time. Why be normal? Be weird! Normal is no fun.

What is one thing your co-workers would be surprised to know about you?

Most of them would probably be surprised to know that I was born in Cuba. I was a Henderson High Flyer in 2nd grade. It's a jump roping team. We did competitions in the valley. We usually placed 3rd or higher. I'm very competitive.
